An Installer performs all duties associated with the installation of Milgard windows and doors at customers’ locations. An employee in the Installation Department performs a variety of installation assignments and requires seasonal availability for a seven day workweek (8-12 hours per day) and ability to work any shift. The work is performed indoors in ambient weather conditions, which fluctuates in temperature extremes from + 32oF to + 105oF. KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform departmental activities per standard operating procedures, MPS, and Philosophy. Operate a Company vehicle in accordance with Company policies and State and Federal laws. Measure provided frame openings in order to locate windows respective of house plans. Install windows and doors into rough openings, knowing how to adjust for plumb, level and square Identify faulty window components and perform general window adjustments Repair or replace glass and window products Create and execute MPS objectives; meet MPS commitments and work within the guidelines of MPS. Reflect Milgard business values and the Milgard Philosophy in all business interactions. Adhere to safety policies and procedures related to all facets of job. LEVEL OF SUPERVISION: None EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Previous glazing and/or window experience EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATION/FORMAL TRAINING: High school diploma or GED Valid Driver’s license for State of employment Clean Department of Motor Vehicle record ESSENTIAL ABILITIES: In depth of knowledge of product lines in order to install and/or repair products in the field Able to compute basic math problems involving fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication and division Mechanical aptitude and ability to read a tape measure Ability to count to 500 Good hand eye coordination and the ability to discern colors Attention to detail with strong organizational skills Excellent customer service skills Strong verbal communication skills Ability to read a tape measure Ability to work on a ladder and scaffolding, up to 24’ high Ability to work in, and promote, a team environment Ability to lift 100 pounds PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: May be required to frequently lift up to 100 lbs. Hand dexterity and strength. Overtime may be required, including some weekends. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Forty (40%) percent of all work activities are performed inside the cab of the service vehicle. The remainder of work activities are preformed outdoors.
